- ὥς (1): by anastrophe for ὡ Od. 18.2, when it follows its subst. In such cases the preceding short syllable is usuaily lengthened, ὄρνῖθες ψώς (end of verse).ὥς (2) (ὧς after οὐδ and καί): thus, so, in this way; often καὶ ὧς, ‘even thus’ (οὐδ' ὧς, ‘not even thus’), i. e. nevertheless (not).
